What is North Sunflower Medical Foundation?
Founded in July 2007, North Sunflower Medical Foundation is comprised of community leaders committed to promoting health and wellness and to enhancing the provision of high standards of healthcare in Sunflower County and the surrounding area by raising funds and supporting new and improved services, programs, equipment and facilities.
Why was there a need to start North Sunflower Medical Foundation?
North Sunflower Medical Center has been in good financial health for several years, but it has not always been financially stable. The “bottom line” has looked good for NSMC in the recent years, but it must be remembered that, as a nonprofit hospital, any revenues in excess of operational expenses are put back into the hospital and community. Economic pressures are constantly being placed on NSMC, which drain precious dollars needed to buy medical equipment, upgrade services, expand programs and maintain excellence in patient care. North Sunflower Medical Foundation wants to ensure that the excellence in patient care continues for the future generations. The Foundation’s purpose is to provide a separate nonprofit entity that will provide support for your healthcare. North Sunflower Medical Foundation provides a mechanism for generating community support.

A gift to North Sunflower Medical Foundation is an investment in healthcare for you, your family and friends. Your gift may be designated to an approved project of your choice. One hundred percent of your donation goes directly to supporting projects of the Foundation and North Sunflower Medical Center to further enhance the quality of health and wellness in your community.

Local healthcare is so important to a community. Businesses and corporations recruiting employees to our area will highlight the fact that a local emergency department facility is available and there is a patient-friendly clinic services staffed with qualified physicians and employees.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
All gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by law. The Foundation is a not-for-profit organization, which is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service to receive tax-deductible contributions.
